both has to partner each other at all steps of the career level. When one is fresher, inportance to academics is given, to grown experience is counted. But here too, ones qualification acts as a passport and experience being the visa.

depends upon the management level.. if it is a juniur level i would not mind to take a fresher..but at the middle mgt level...obvious experience is required addition to the preffered qualification. And its is not Hr who decides, it is the respective department Manager.

In a Organization its the Prime Duty of the HR manager to initiate the Staffing Job IN CONSULTATION WITH THE RESPECTIVE DEPARTMENTAL HEADS...

i dont know how its done in your Organization, but on a widely accepted fact, its this way..

And U have again gone wrong in opting for only Experianced guys to the middle level line and Freshers to the Junior Levels.

I dont think Thats a very right approach at all blindly..

I think u need to have the right kind of Practical Mindset of the candidate applying for the Job irrespective of the position and their experiance.

All the fortune 500 listed companies had youngsters, experianced, freshers, and aged people with a right blend on the top level management.

Let me explain you wher u ve gone wrong..

All in Experience always overcome freshers..tell u how..

Firstly, In an organistaion the requirement for staffing is felt when any department is overflowed with work or any change of work. In that case the department head ask for an additional employee as per the budgets set. Here its the demand from the dpt head which is then executed by the HR manager. After the execution done by the HR mgr again it comes to Dept head for the skill requirment. Here the factors for exp, type, anything are set by the dpt head alsoo the selection is done by him. Hr manager is there only to Nod his head and for verification. That is why there is an interview with the HR almost at the last phase.

Let me defend my decisio for exp...
everybody has to be a fresher at any stage and will be expereinced at any stage...at both stages the individual set its own goal...

the same way companies have requirements for a sepcifc job from a person to perfom....

For a person to perfom he needs to be skilled with the respect to the opening...
The skills he may get from education or frm experience...But there are skills which u ll get only from expereince...Ay body can read book and can be skilled ...but skills from experience..u can only get by working at the base level...
Knowledges such as product knowledge, industry knowledge, market knowledge, team management, etc these things u can only learn thru exp.
i understand education plays imp role. i m an MBA , marketing...i can perfom marketing not finance. this is the base for me ...my experience will add up to it..which is essential to grow..ur exp shud match ur base that is ur education...your value will multiply..
The way u are saying...i think anybody can become General Manager just coming out of the college.
You are saying about fortune 500...In Dubai it is the worst happening ...against what u ave said..In Inda i have worked with MNC..its not even there..There are companies ..even for the base level they ask exp..to get a break sometimes it get difficult...

Now let me counter argue your statement.. A company or a Dept is Staffed not only when activities are over flowed or when there is a Change in activity..


The other reasons re High Labour Turn over, New strategies of companies like de- Layering, and then when there is a Layering again, The process of Staffing called “New Hires” hope u have gone thru this terms while @ college..

Secondly.. Ur whole argument on Experience would not not work out with a Live example of a Young CEO of a Chain of IT companies at the age of 16 from Banglore .. He did not have any experience working in any So called “Base level” firms, he worked it out himself, became the @ present not (legal Owner) But after 1 more year.. He is the one Executing all the Top level Decisions..

I can say, there was once upon a time when Experianced people where preferred on top Management, but now World is changing, Today’s Business need Young, Dynamic, mouldable, Risk taking, Practical thinking, Logical, and Calculative Freshers right out from College..

But again my dear Friend I would not say all Freshers Posses these Qualities.. No Not @ all. I swear… But there re I can Guarantee you..

But again Not all experienced People re fit for the kind of Particular job which they enough experience in, their Decisions can also astray.. But again there re Efficeint eminent guys I swear.. yes I Do Agree!!!

Eg The lady CEO of Avon Company who almost made raised their profits from 20 million to 2.5 Billion in just 8 Years.. She was Fired in 1996 I guess for a very wrong decision she made on a particular issue.. Experience doesn’t help Everyone.. but it Helps..
Academics doesn’t Help Everyone.. but exceptions re there.. and I was talking only about Exceptions..

Always a fresher will argue ion this points...examples are good to listen but difficult to follow...i mean...u mentioined an IT industry my dear friend....Can u compare our generation to one of our elders...still where ever u work... u will find exp people handicapped in this field...but then too they ar trained and held by the com...go to FMCG, Consumer durables....this funda of urs will not work...go to any industry....what u said are exceptions...these exceptions shld not be counted as examples..it shld just be heard of or taken care of..

For HR, i must suggest to read what i have written again...i have not only mentioned about job over flw...also ve metioned somethign more...
